At a time when AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) was transforming static pages into dynamic applications (think early Gmail and Google Maps), Spry allowed designers to implement rich interactive widgets—accordions, tabbed panels, collapsible panels, and tooltips—without writing a single line of JavaScript.
