Boss Level [TRUSTED]

The Groundhog Day loop is used brilliantly. Each reset, Roy learns a little more—a new route, an enemy’s weakness, a better weapon. This means the action never gets stale. You see him fail, adapt, and improve in real-time. One scene has him dying 5 different ways in 5 minutes, each death funnier and more creative than the last. The final 20 minutes is a non-stop, one-man-army gauntlet through a city street that is genuinely thrilling.

Here’s a review of the 2020 action-sci-fi film (directed by Joe Carnahan, starring Frank Grillo). The Short Verdict "Boss Level" is a blast. It’s a creative, violent, and surprisingly heartfelt mash-up of Groundhog Day , John Wick , and classic arcade gaming. If you like hard R-rated action, dark comedy, and Frank Grillo finally getting a lead role worthy of his talents, this is a must-watch. The Good 1. Frank Grillo Owns the Role Grillo plays Roy Pulver, a retired Special Forces veteran trapped reliving the day of his murder. He’s perfectly cast: world-weary, sarcastic, and physically convincing in the action scenes. As the movie progresses, he evolves from a shrugging fatalist (“I’ll die again in 10 minutes, so who cares?”) to a man rediscovering love and purpose. His narration is hilarious and gives the film a pulpy, 80s-action-hero vibe. Boss Level

A violent, funny, and surprisingly heartfelt time-loop action movie. Skip it if: You dislike gore, repetitive structures, or Mel Gibson. The Groundhog Day loop is used brilliantly
