A no-CD crack (or no-DVD crack) is a modified executable file ( .exe ) or a small software patch. Its purpose is to bypass a game's copy protection system—most commonly SafeDisc, SecuROM, or Steam DRM—that requires the original physical disc to be inserted into the computer's optical drive to launch and play the game.
