Cisco ASDM (Adaptive Security Device Manager) is the primary GUI management tool for Cisco ASA (Adaptive Security Appliance) firewalls. The ASDM-IDM Launcher is a Java-based desktop application that connects to the ASA to manage security policies, VPNs, and monitoring.
Once installed, you can manage your Cisco ASA firewall with the full graphical interface – from firewall rules to VPN configuration. Cisco now pushes CSM (Cisco Security Manager) or FDM (Firepower Device Manager) on newer Firepower platforms. For classic ASA, ASDM remains the go-to tool.
