In many parts of the Arab world, legal and social stigmas surrounding homosexuality create a "digital closet," where individuals must lead double lives for safety. This paper examines how online platforms serve as a vital lifeline for Arab gay men to build community, find representation, and explore their identities in ways that are often impossible in the physical public sphere. However, it also explores the "flip side" of this connectivity: the rise of digital targeting, entrapment by state authorities, and the unique cultural nuances of gay identity in a region where public invisibility is often a survival strategy.
