One of the biggest pain points for ZMK users has been the lack of live keymap reconfiguration. Unlike QMK’s Via, ZMK traditionally required rebuilding and flashing firmware for every layout tweak. That changes with – a community-driven adaptation that brings real-time keymap editing to Bluetooth-enabled ZMK keyboards.

Via for ZMK uses the same familiar Via UI but communicates over BLE (or USB) using a custom ZMK module. You still get wireless splits, low power consumption, and ZMK’s excellent peripheral support – but now you can remap keys, adjust layers, or swap modifiers without recompiling. via zmk
