Released in July 2019 (ahead of the film’s October 18 release), the trailer for the long-rumored sequel proved that Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita, and Little Rock haven’t lost their step—even if the world has gotten a little weirder. The trailer opens with a perfect callback: Jesse Eisenberg’s neurotic Columbus narrating the “rules” of survival. But this time, the rules have evolved. While the original film focused on basics like Cardio (#1) and Double Tap (#2), the new trailer introduces absurdist additions like #4: Always carry a change of underwear and #17: Don’t be a hero (seriously, don’t) .
